Pint Description: Milk Bar describes Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie Crush as: “Peanut butter chocolate ice cream with peanut butter cookie crumbs and fudgy chocolate cookie batter.”
Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice Cream: This is a very dense base. It helps to temper it, but even then it’s still not as smooth and creamy as I would expect from a premium branded pint. Maybe that’s due to the peanut butter mixed into the pint. This is my first taste of a Milk Bar Pint. I’ll know more what to expect from Milk Bar bases as I try other pints.
I get a peanut butter flavor from the base with a chocolate aftertaste. Neither flavor is strong. It’s a sweet pint. By the end of my serving, most of the flavor is overwhelmed by the extreme sweetness of all the elements of this pint.
Peanut Butter Cookie Crumbs: There were small crumbs of peanut butter cookies mixed throughout the base. I like a good peanut butter cookie. But I didn’t get much flavor out of these cookie crumbs. The crumbs weren’t soggy and provided some chew, some texture.
Increasing the amount of these crumbs would immediately improve the pint. Larger clumps, larger chunks, more crumbs—any of these options would level this pint up.
I did find a couple gobs of peanut butter, which I assume is from the cookie filling, as in a Nutter Butter. I enjoyed the peanut butter gobs, but would’ve liked more of it.
Fudgy Chocolate Cookie Batter: This is a very sweet, gooey, chocolate cookie batter, so thick it could be brownie batter. It’s sweet as hell. In terms of flavor, a little taste goes a long way. Even though there wasn’t a lot of it, there was enough of this mix-in in the pint because the sweet chocolate flavor was so concentrated.
Overall: This is a decadent pint, and my sweet tooth is my weakness. I did enjoy it despite being disappointed in the subpar texture and mild flavor of the peanut butter chocolate base. Maybe the texture is due to the peanut butter in the base, but it wasn’t as rich and creamy as I expect from a premium brand. The peanut butter cookie crumbs and chocolate cookie batter mix-ins are good, but more or larger peanut butter cookie crumbs would’ve improved the pint. 8/10.
