Description from Molly Moon Website: Inspired by its Spring counterpart Sasquatch, this delicious flavor is made with sweet cream ice cream that’s swirled with homemade vanilla bean caramel and tons of homemade yeti granola and Theo chocolate bits. We make our yeti granola in-house by mixing together pepitas and pepita butter, flax seeds, rolled oats, honey and a touch of salt before roasting it in the oven.
Sweet Cream Ice Cream/Vanilla Bean Caramel: The vanilla bean caramel was swirled so thoroughly into the sweet cream base that it was in effect a caramel-flavored base. The caramel had a hint a burnt sugar by vanilla. Not overly sweet or cloying. Creamy and smooth. Enjoyable.
Yeti Granola: Soft, not soggy. Somewhat salty, a nice contrast to the sweet base. The granola added not just flavor but also chewy texture. Small to medium sized. A moderate amount.
Theo Chocolate Bits: These were chunks of premium chocolate, not the cheap ganache typically found in ice cream. Leaning dark. Small to medium sized. A moderate amount.
Overall: The slightly burnt vanilla caramel, the granola, and the slightly dark chocolate all come together well. I’m reminded of the best oatmeal chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever tasted. My only quibble: the mix-in amount. It could be more generous to justify the $10 pint price. Recommended.
