This was a seasonal flavor available at Molly Moon in April 2023.
Brown Sugar Ice Cream: Smooth and creamy with a rich mouthfeel. Sweet, but not cloying. A pronounced dairy note. The brown sugar flavor is subtle. It’s an enjoyable, high quality base, but the brown sugar flavor could be stronger. I can’t taste molasses at all—happily enough, because I find it too sour, too much a vegetable note in ice cream.
Brown Sugar Blondies with White Chocolate Chunks: Sweet, sugary blondie pieces with a rich buttery flavor. Medium to large-sized. Crispy and chewy; not soggy at all. The white chocolate chunks, while small, are detectable and add some sweetness and bite. A high quality mix-in.
The problem: I only got two blondie chunks in my half pint serving. The cross section pictures tell the story here: a big disappointment. I hope this is just a manufacturing defect and not as intended for a $12 premium pint.
Overall: The brown sugar base is premium quality, a nice blank canvas for mix-ins, if a little subtle with the brown sugar flavor. And the blondie chunks are good too. But there just aren’t enough of them to justify the price of this pint.
