Disclaimer: Atomic Creamery sent me a free box of six pints to review. This is in part to promote their monthly ice cream subscription box. While the free pints provide us the opportunity for this review, Atomic Creamery has no control over the opinions contained in this review.
How the Atomic Creamery Subscription Box Works: Subscribers choose four pints each month—two pints from a menu of rotating, limited edition pints available only to subscribers that month, and two pints from Atomic Creamery’s regular menu. Raspberry Prosecco is a flavor from Atomic Creamery’s limited edition menu, meaning it was only available in the February 2022 box. Subscribe to the Atomic Creamery Subscription box here.
Overall: Atomic Creamery’s Raspberry Prosecco is a tart berry and sweet wine blast, a great Valentine’s Day themed pint for the right person. If you or your significant other like sweet, tart raspberry and sweet wine, you will enjoy this one. I’m not a big wine drinker. But I’ll try not to let that affect my review. I’d recommend letting this ice cream temper for about 15-20 minutes. That seems to moderate the prosecco flavor so it’s more of an aftertaste rather than the first, dominating flavor. Regardless, after a few scoops, I adjusted to the wine taste—it moved to the background.
The base has a very fruity raspberry flavor. It’s not quite to a sherbet level of tart fruitiness, but it’s leaning in that direction. Fruit is always a bit problematic when making ice cream due to the water content in the fruit. But Atomic navigated the problem for the most part—there was plenty of creaminess to the base. If your sweetie likes wine and berries, this pint would make an ideal Valentine’s Day dessert. It was a limited edition release, so look for it again possibly next February 14th. 7/10.
