Vanilla Base: The ice cream base is sweet and creamy, rich and smooth, with a strong vanilla flavor. Perhaps not as decadent a base as some premium brands, but a pleasant canvas for the mix-ins.
Cookie Dough Chunks: Small to medium pellets of cookie dough are well-distributed throughout the pint. Plentiful enough that I average at least one cookie dough chunk on every spoon. You know the stuff: gritty, plain cookie dough—which is to say there are no chocolate chips in the dough so far as I can tell.
Dark Chocolate Chips: Graeter’s crazy, randomly sized, randomlydistributed dark chocolate chips. Lots of larger chunks in this pint—a big win at the Graeter’s chocolate chip casino for me. Plenty of smaller chocolate chunks as well. Not every pint has been so generous with the chocolate chips.
Overall: Graeter’s does classic flavors well—and by this point in ice cream history, cookie dough ice cream is one of the classics. But Graeter’s Cookie Dough Chocolate Chip takes classic cookie dough ice cream up a notch with the inclusion of their signature chocolate chunks.

Small to medium sized pellets of cookie dough are well-distributed throughout the pint. Plentiful enough that I average at least one cookie dough chunk on every spoon. It’s gritty, plain cookie dough—which is to say there are no chocolate chips in the dough itself so far as I can tell.
Graeter’s chocolate chunks work well with the cookie dough chunks. Everything is high quality and enjoyable. My portion of the pint has a very generous distribution of larger chunks of chocolate, and plenty of smaller flecks as well. The randomness of size, shapes, and distribution of Graeter’s chocolate keeps bringing me back for another taste—like a gambling addict buying just one more lottery ticket. This pint was a win for me. Recommended. 8/10.
