Especially when the crust is graham cracker. So that’s why this makes us happy – brown sugar ice cream with pieces of graham cracker pie crust and swirls of honey.”
This was a Walmart exclusive limited edition flavor available in Spring 2023.
Brown Sugar Ice Cream: Sweet. Smooth and creamy. A subtle brown sugar flavor, and some cinnamon as well. Maybe some graham cracker flavor dissolved into the base.
Graham Cracker Pie Crust Pieces: Chunks of soft, not soggy pie crust. Not very sweet. A subtle graham cracker taste. A denser pie crust texture rather than a graham cracker texture. Small to medium-sized chunks. A good amount; multiple chunks in every bite.
Honey Swirls: I wasn’t able to detect a swirl. Check the cross section pictures; swirl missing in action. If there was ever a honey swirl in this pint, it dissolved into the base.
Overall: Fairly bland. Could use something additional to punch it up. Maybe a thicker honey swirl that would survive Walmart’s rough treatment, resist dissolving into the base. Or a more flavorful base or mix-in. I applaud Van Leeuwen for releasing so many different limited edition flavors at Walmart, but I wouldn’t try this one again if it’s ever re-released. Too many better options out there.
