Truly a slice of Boston Cream Pie in an ice cream pint. There are enough soft, sweet yellow cake bits that you can include a chewy taste in most every bite. And those cake mix-ins level this pint up, adding needed texture and complexity. But thick dollops of chocolate fudge sauce are everywhere and overwhelm the other flavors. Spoon judiciously: keep each spoonful of the custard base and cake bits separate from the fudge sauce. Then you can taste all the flavors, not just chocolate. Overall, a rich, decadent treat that cannot be put down.

First let me say I enjoy eating a good Boston Cream so when I saw this ice cream I was intrigued…it is a delicious blend and it tastes just like the pastry itself…but here’s a suggestion in my opinion…the cake pieces do not work well with this ice cream…it may work best if it werent frozen…frozen cake does not taste yummy… when it sits in freezers especially for long periods of time. Won’t buy again because of the cake pieces.
