Ice Cream Review: Ben & Jerry’s “topped” Tiramisu

Ben & Jerry’s “Topped” Tiramisu is a great take on the classic Italian dessert. The extremely generous amount of mix-ins—chocolate ganache, espresso chunks, fudge swirl, and shortbread pieces—made for a decadent treat. It’s a very chocolatey interpretation of tiramisu, due largely to the extreme amount of fudge swirl.

Ice Cream Review: Coolhaus Campfire S’mores

Coolhaus Campfire S’mores is not a s’mores flavor because it lacks marshmallow and graham cracker mix-ins or flavors. The front pint blurb identifies the flavor as: “Vanilla marshmallow ice cream with chocolate squares and a graham marshmallow swirl.”

Ice Cream Review: Humphry Slocombe Honey Graham 7/10

Humphry Slocombe Honey Graham has a delicious premium base with a complex taste. The pint states it has a raw honey base, but no honey flavor was detected. Maybe the honey dissolved into the base and then became too subtle to detect.

Ice cream Review: Atomic Creamery Halvah

Ice cream Review: Atomic Creamery Halvah (7/10)

Atomic Creamery’s Halvah is an unusual pint. Halvah is a Middle Eastern candy—a dry, crunchy sesame paste bar. I was expecting crunchy pieces of halvah in the base, but nope.

Ice Cream Review Coolhaus Bananas Foster

Ice Cream Review: Coolhaus Bananas Foster (7/10)

Coolhaus Bananas Foster is a competent ice cream pint interpretation of a classic dessert. The banana base is rich and creamy, and its flavor strong.

Ice Cream Review: Salt & Straw Hunk-a Chunka PB&B (6/10)

Salt & Straw’s Hunk-a Chunka PB&B had a promising flavor combination—banana, peanut butter, white chocolate, and marionberry jam. But only the jam delivered thrills—and that was limited to the top layer.

Ice Cream Review Atomic Creamery Buckeye

Ice Cream Review: Atomic Creamery Buckeye 9/10

Atomic Creamery’s Buckeye is peanut butter and chocolate heaven. The base is a sweet, creamy, bold peanut butter. So many brands pull their punches with a peanut butter base. Not Atomic.

Ice Cream Review: Salt & Straw Chocolate Caramel Potato Chip Cupcake (9/10)

Salt & Straw’s Chocolate Caramel Potato Chip Cupcake has a lot going on in its name—and in its pint. This one is amazing—simply loaded with mix-ins.

Ice Cream Review: Humphry Slocombe Caramel Pretzel Swirl (8/10)

Humphry Slocombe Caramel Pretzel Swirl reminds me of an old favorite—Ben & Jerry’s Chubby Hubby, minus the peanut butter element. The base is stellar, so rich it tastes like cake batter.

Ice Cream Review: Atomic Creamery Cherry Codial (8/10)

Atomic Creamery Cherry Cordial is in good company with B&J’s Cherry Garcia and Graeter’s Black Cherry Chocolate Chip. It has a premium sweet cream base, decadent Cella chocolate-covered cherry mix-ins, cherry syrup from the candy that flavors the base to a certain extent, and half a ton of milk chocolate stracciatella everywhere in the pint.
