Ice Cream review: Graeter’s Dark Chocolate Brownie (7/10)
Graeter’s Dark Chocolate Brownie does a great job nailing a dark chocolate base—a bold, but not too bold dark chocolate. After scooping many of their pints, I believe Graeter’s does basic flavors very well.
Ice Cream Review: Van Leeuwen Planet Earth (8/10)
Van Leeuwen’s Planet Earth is a delightful pint that exceeded my expectations. I was expecting a gimmick pint—a pint that isn’t flavorful or loaded with mix-ins but that references something else.
Ice Cream Review: Proper Ice Cream Blueberry Muffin (8/10)
Proper Ice Cream’s Blueberry Muffin absolutely nails the blueberry muffin flavor profile. It’s composed of a sweet cream base, a blueberry compote swirl, and blueberry muffin pieces.

Graeter’s does classic flavors well—and by this point in ice cream history, cookie dough flavored ice cream is a class. Graeter’s chocolate chips work well with the cookie dough chunks.

Ice Cream Review: Graeter’s Toffee Chocolate Chip (8/10)
Graeter’s Toffee Chocolate Chip is a great flavor combination. But my particular pint didn’t have as many mix-ins as I would’ve liked.
Ice Cream Review: Van Leeuwen Wild Blueberry Shortcake (7/10)
Van Leeuwen’s Wild Blueberry Shortcake is a good pint featuring a nice, standard vanilla base, a pop of jam-like blueberry swirl, and plentiful moist shortcake chunks.
Ice Cream Review: Graeter’s Boldly bearcat 8/10
Graeter’s Boldly Bearcat was a limited edition flavor that recognizes the University of Cincinnati, but it now appears to be on Graeter’s permanent menu. The mascarpone base is great—rich, creamy, tangy, flavorful, but not overpowering.
