Ice Cream Review: Acme Valley – Chocolate Chip (8.5/10)
Acme Valley’s Chocolate Chip is an enjoyable, classic ice cream flavor. The sweet cream base is high quality and refreshing. But it’s the plentiful, crunchy stracciatella chocolate chips that make this a recommended flavor.
Ice Cream Review: Molly Moon’s Berry Cobbler (8.5/10)
Molly Moon’s Berry Cobbler is a seasonal monthly flavor in November 2022. The base vanilla base might benefit from less mixing with the berry jam to keep the vanilla and berry flavors more separate and distinct.
Ice cream Review: Molly Moon’s Dutch Apple Pie (8/10)
Molly Moon’s Dutch Apple Pie deftly captures that apple pie thing, largely because of its powerful spiced apple base. The crumbles were good too, but being greedy, I wanted more of those.
Ice Cream Review: Molly Moon’s Caramel Pretzel Crunch (7/10)
Molly Moon’s Caramel Pretzel Crunch was a seasonal flavor for December 2022. The base seemed bland, lacking the promised pretzel flavor
Ice Cream Review: Milk Bar Birthday Cake (8/10)
Milk Bar’s Birthday Cake is a sweet take on the classic flavor. The sweet base has a somewhat subdued cakey vibe. The cake crumbs are enjoyable, but smallish and not too plentiful.
Ice Cream Review: Milk Bar Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookie Crush
This is a decadent pint, and my sweet tooth is my weakness. I did enjoy it despite being disappointed in the subpar texture and mild flavor of the peanut butter chocolate base.
Ice Cream Review: Talenti Bourbon Fudge Brownie (8/10)
Talenti describes Bourbon Fudge Brownie as a “pairing of Belgian chocolate gelato and oak-aged bourbon gelato with brownie pieces.” I’m not really a bourbon aficionado, but the alcohol flavor in the bourbon gelato was mild enough, hitting mostly on the aftertaste, that I didn’t mind it much.
Ice cream Review: Little Debbie Star Crunch (4.5/10)
Little Debbie’s Star Crunch had a disappointing caramel base that lacked flavor and texture. I expect cheaper pints to have more air in the base, so I can forgive the texture somewhat.
